Why Designers Choose the Rebels Tile Collection

Designers and homeowners across Cleveland are drawn to Rebels for its versatility and its ability to redefine a surface with color and rhythmic patterning.

Small Format Tile with Big Visual Impact

The compact 2 x 6 size allows for dynamic pattern play, including:

• Clean vertical or horizontal stacking
• Offset brick layouts with modern character
• Herringbone or basketweave arrangements
• Mixed gloss and matt combinations for subtle dimension

This small format brings precision and texture to both large and small spaces, creating a crafted, intentional finish.

A Modern, Expressive Color Palette

The Rebels color selection includes nine artistic hues:

• Warm, soft tones such as Popcorn, Taupe, and Greige
• Deep saturated shades like Mustard, Moss, and Nero
• Flexible neutrals that blend seamlessly with wood tones, stone, and metal finishes

Each color interacts uniquely with gloss or matt surfaces, giving homeowners endless opportunities to shape the mood of a room.

Durability Suited for Daily Living

Because Rebels tiles are made of dense porcelain, they offer:

• Reliable moisture resistance
• Easy cleaning with mild pH neutral products
• Long term performance in bathrooms, laundry rooms, and kitchens
• UV stable pigments that maintain their vibrancy over time

This makes Rebels ideal for wet areas, active homes, and high use environments where beauty and performance matter equally.

How to Personalize the Rebels Tile Collection for Your Project

Rebels is a highly customizable collection, and the final look depends on creative decisions you make throughout the selection process.

1. Choose Your Mood and Color Story

• For minimalism, choose Popcorn, Greige, or Taupe in a stacked layout
• For a natural, grounded aesthetic, Moss or Sage in matt finishes offers organic warmth
• For dramatic contrast, explore Nero in gloss or a mixed sheen arrangement

2. Play with Patterns That Match Your Style

Patterns influence the personality of a room:

• Vertical stacked = clean, modern, contemporary
• Horizontal stacked = calm, structured, balanced
• Offset brick = classic with a design forward twist
• Mixed gloss and matt = a luxurious, editorial look

3. Visualize Your Design in Person at Design Surfaces

The best way to finalize your palette is to view samples under natural lighting and pair them with:

• Quartz or porcelain countertops
• Natural wood cabinetry
• Designer hardware
• Grout colors that amplify or soften the look

Our Westlake showroom makes it easy to compare combinations and build a cohesive, personalized plan.

Maintenance and Longevity of Rebels Tile

Despite its artistic aesthetic, Rebels offers practical, everyday durability.

• Cleaning: Gentle, pH neutral cleaners keep both finishes looking fresh
• Sealing: Not required, thanks to porcelain’s low porosity
• Scratch and stain performance: PEI 4 durability (Popcorn PEI 3) supports long term use
• Color stability: UV resistant pigments maintain tone and clarity

Designers and homeowners appreciate that Rebels offers the visual impact of artisanal tile with the performance of high quality porcelain.

Its distinctive 2x6 format allows homeowners and designers to create statement backsplashes, shower walls, feature walls, and architectural accents that feel artistic, contemporary, and highly personalized.

Why is the Rebels Tile Collection so popular with interior designers?

Designers love Rebels because it offers something many tile collections do not: personality. The combination of curated colors, matte and gloss finishes, and flexible installation patterns allows designers to create custom looks that feel unique while maintaining the durability and practicality of porcelain tile.

Is the Rebels Tile Collection made from porcelain?

Yes. Rebels is crafted from high-quality porcelain, making it highly resistant to moisture, stains, scratches, and everyday wear. This durability allows it to perform beautifully in kitchens, bathrooms, mudrooms, laundry rooms, and other high-traffic areas throughout the home.

• Kitchen backsplashes

Its compact size and visual impact make it ideal for both small design moments and large statement installations.

Are Rebels tiles a good choice for kitchen backsplashes?

Absolutely. The collection's vibrant colors, texture options, and durable porcelain construction make it an excellent backsplash material. Rebels can transform an ordinary kitchen wall into a focal point while offering easy maintenance and long-term performance.

What tile layout patterns work best with the Rebels Collection?

One of the biggest advantages of the Rebels Collection is its layout versatility. Popular patterns include:

• Vertical stacked tile for a modern architectural look
• Horizontal stacked tile for a clean, structured appearance
• Offset brick layouts for timeless character
• Herringbone patterns for movement and sophistication
• Basketweave installations for visual texture
• Mixed matte and gloss arrangements for added depth

The chosen pattern can dramatically influence the overall personality of the space.

What colors are available in the Rebels Tile Collection?

The collection features a curated palette ranging from subtle neutrals to bold statement colors. Popular selections include Popcorn, Taupe, Greige, Moss, Mustard, and Nero. This variety allows homeowners to create everything from soft organic interiors to dramatic, design-forward spaces.

Is the Rebels Tile Collection suitable for shower walls and bathrooms?

Yes. Because Rebels is manufactured from durable porcelain, it performs exceptionally well in bathrooms and shower environments. Its moisture resistance, low maintenance requirements, and design versatility make it a popular choice for luxury bathroom remodels.

Should I choose matte or glossy tile?

Both finishes offer unique benefits.

Glossy Tile

• Reflects light
• Creates brightness and visual energy
• Enhances color saturation
• Works well in smaller spaces

Matte Tile

• Offers a softer, contemporary appearance
• Creates subtle texture
• Minimizes glare
• Works beautifully in modern and organic interiors

Many designers combine both finishes to create a more layered and sophisticated result.

Is porcelain tile easy to maintain?

Yes. Porcelain tile is one of the lowest-maintenance surface materials available. Rebels tiles do not require sealing and can typically be cleaned with mild, pH-neutral cleaning products. Their dense surface resists moisture, stains, and everyday wear.

Can small-format tile make a big design impact?

Absolutely. While large-format tile is often associated with minimalism, small-format tile offers opportunities for pattern, texture, color variation, and visual interest. The Rebels Collection proves that compact tile can create some of the most memorable and distinctive spaces in a home.

How do I choose the right Rebels tile color for my project?

When selecting a color, consider:

• Cabinet finishes
• Countertop materials
• Flooring selections
• Natural lighting
• Hardware finishes
• Overall design style

Viewing tile samples alongside other materials helps ensure a cohesive and well-balanced design.

Do designer tile collections increase home value?

While no design feature guarantees a specific return, professionally designed kitchens, bathrooms, and feature walls often improve buyer perception. Premium tile installations can help a home feel more custom, updated, and visually memorable.

Why are homeowners choosing designer porcelain tile over standard subway tile?

Many homeowners want more character and individuality than traditional white subway tile can provide. Designer porcelain collections like Rebels offer richer color palettes, varied finishes, unique layouts, and a more customized appearance while maintaining the durability and easy maintenance that porcelain tile is known for.

Is the Rebels Tile Collection worth the investment?

For homeowners seeking a distinctive, design-forward surface, Rebels offers exceptional value. Its combination of premium porcelain construction, bold color options, flexible layouts, and long-term durability makes it an excellent choice for creating spaces that feel elevated, personal, and timeless.
