Since 1975, Design Surfaces has focused on bringing hard-surface solutions into homes throughout Northeast Ohio. From countertops to tile and luxury vinyl flooring to sinks and lighting, Design Surfaces offers a one-stop-shop with VIP customer service and personal attention.
The same appreciation that current owners' grandfather, Nicholas Coticchia, brought when he came to America from Italy in 1975 as a stone mason, his grandsons David and Dean along with business partner Jim Nieberding bring to each and every customer who walks through the door.

Yes. Our Westlake showroom is open to the public, and no appointment is required to browse our displays, explore materials, or view stone slabs. If you would like dedicated time with one of our designers, you can also book a free in-store design consultation.
Yes. We stock a wide selection of natural and engineered stone slabs at our Westlake location. Customers are welcome to visit and explore available slabs in person.
No. You do not have to purchase the entire slab when ordering countertops through Design Surfaces.
Quartzite is a natural stone formed from sandstone under intense heat and pressure. Quartz countertops are engineered surfaces made primarily from quartz minerals combined with resins and pigments. Both offer beautiful, durable options, but they differ in appearance, maintenance, and performance.
We provide professional countertop fabrication and installation. For tile installation, we can connect you with trusted professionals from our referral network.Yes, we install all countertops and use a referral list for tile products.

JENNIFER GLOVER
Celebrating her 11th year with the DS family, Jen has a passion for putting trends together with classic color theory for great design. Her outgoing personality helps her find common ground with clients and build relationships. “In the end, what I like best about my job is the family atmosphere and meeting new people,” she says.
KATE LAUX
With a specialty in coordinating colors and staying task-oriented, Kate has worked at Design Surfaces for the past 7-1/2 years. She reports the favorite part of her job is the people she works with.
MALLORY YAX
Mallory has a passion for design, style and human interaction. She studied fine art at Ohio University and has since developed a love for interiors. She enjoys helping curate a home you will love that reflects you. She thinks about what her Boston terrier Ninja is doing at least 50 times a day.
